Tietokoneilla työskentelyyn yhteiset pelisäännöt | Common rules for computer work

(Please scroll down to read in English)

Kirjastomme mahdollistaa yhdessä yliopiston kanssa monipuoliset tietotekniikkatyökalut kaikkien asiakkaiden käyttöön. UEFin opiskelijat ja henkilökunta pääsevät kirjautumaan koneille helposti omilla UEF-tunnuksillaan. Muut asiakkaat saavat kirjautumiseen vierailijatunnukset.

Tietokoneilla on erittäin korkea käyttöaste — kampuskirjastojen tietokoneet ovat aukioloaikoina lähes sataprosenttisesti käytössä suurimman osan ajasta etenkin lukukauden kiireisimpinä aikoina. Melkein jokainen tietokoneidemme käyttäjä on joutunut jonottamaan päästäkseen työskentelemään.

  • Voit poistua koneelta korkeintaan 15 minuutiksi.
  • Hoida puhelut aina kirjaston ulkopuolella. Ethän halua, että sinunkaan työtäsi häirittäisiin.
  • Pidä työskentelytilat siisteinä ja siivoa jälkesi.

Pelisääntöjen noudattaminen auttaa tekemään kirjastosta ja yliopistosta viihtyisän ja toimivan oppimisympäristön. Kiitos yhteistyöstä!

In collaboration with the university, our library provides all of its customers with a versatile set of information technology tools. UEF students and staff members can login to the computers with their UEF username and password. Other customers receive guest login information for using the computers.

The computer workstations have a very high utilisation rate – nearly one hundred per cent of the campus libraries’ computers are in use for most of the time, especially during the busiest periods of the semester. Almost all of the users have faced the situation where they have to stand in line to get to use the workstations.

For all our users’ sake, in order to avoid so-called unnecessary queueing, it would be most important to give space for each other and enable the full usage potential of the computer workstations. In other words, if one does not require using a computer for work, it would be best to let others to work as well. If upon leaving the workstation one knows that they will return, it is best to consider the other users and give away your seat for others. It is unlikely that anyone would want to wait while the workstations are empty.

Through customer feedback and service activity monitoring, we have compiled simple and clear common rules regarding the computer workstation use, and all users are expected to follow them. In addition to the workstations’ usage potential, securing the users’ personal belongings has been taken into account when compiling the rules.

The main common rules are as follows:

  • Take care of your belongings, and do not take over working space from others. Your valuables are your own responsibility!
  • You can leave the workstation for a maximum of 15 minutes. This is to avoid unnecessary queues.
Another user is allowed to take your place and mover your belongings aside, if you have been away for more than 15 minutes. Library staff is not needed for this.
  • Save your work often. Lost data is not the library’s responsibility.
  • Take care of your phone calls outside the library. You would not want to have your peace for work disturbed.
  • Keep the working space tidy and clean up afterwards.

Following these common rules helps to make our library and the university a comfortable and functional working environment. Thank you for your co-operation!
