Hei kaikille!

Olen kirjaston uusi tietopalveluneuvoja Sofi Timonen. Aloitin työt Joensuun kampuskirjastossa huhtikuun alussa ja nyt perehtymisjaksoni alkaa olla päätöksessä. Aika on mennyt todella nopeasti työtehtäviin, -ympäristöön ja -kavereihin tutustuessa. Kirjastossa minuun voi törmätä todennäköisimmin asiakaspalvelussa tai kaukopalveluasioita hoitaessa. Hyllyjenkin välissä saatan puikkelehtia hyllytyshommissa. Joskus minut voi myös löytää opiskelemasta kirjaston tiloista.

Opiskelen informaatiotutkimusta Tampereen yliopistossa nyt neljättä vuotta. Kirjastoala on ollut tähtäimessä jo siis useamman vuoden; kiinnostuin alasta lukion jälkeen välivuotta viettäessäni. Kirjastotyöstä minulla on kokemusta yleisestä kirjastosta viime vuodelta tehtyäni harjoittelun ja sen jälkeen sijaisuuksia Joensuun pääkirjastossa. Pidin kirjastotyöstä sekä kaupungista niin paljon, että karkasin kesken opiskeluiden tänne työelämään.

Olen kotoisin Kiteeltä, josta muutin opintojen perässä Tampereelle. Palasin siis nyt Pohjois-Karjalaan muutaman vuoden jälkeen. Vietän vapaa-aikaanikin paljon kirjojen parissa, yleensä luen kaunokirjallisuutta. Lisäksi urheilen jonkun verran, satunnaisesti pelailen, virkkaan tai maalaan ja piirrän.

Hello everyone!

I am Sofi Timonen and a new Information Services Advisor at the library. I have been working at Joensuu campus library since the start of April and now my orientation period is at its end. The time has flown fast by while I have been familiarizing myself with work, people and the workplace. In the library, you might meet me at the service desk or when handling interlibrary loans. It is also possible to find me between the shelves when I am shelving returned books. In addition, sometimes I just study at the library.

I am a fourth year student of information research at Tampere universities. The library sector has interested me for many years, since a gap year after high school. I have library work experience from last summer and autumn when I did internship at Joensuu public library and after that worked there for a while. I found library work and the city so nice that I came back to Joensuu to work.

Originally, I come from Kitee from where I moved to Tampere to study. You could say that I am a returnee to northern Karelia. I spend a lot of time with books in my free time too, mostly I read fiction. Other than reading I occasionally play some sports, play games, crochet or paint and draw.
