Vierailu Medical University of Grazissa – Itä-Suomen yliopiston Hoitotieteen laitoksen opetuksen ja tutkimuksen esittely (III/3)
Oli hienoa päästä kertomaan Itä-Suomen yliopistosta sekä sen Hoitotieteen laitoksen opetuksesta ja tutkimuksesta Medical University of Grazin Hoitotieteellisen Instituutin hoitotieteen ja terveystieteiden maisteriopiskelijoille.
Hoitotieteen laitoksen uudistunut maisteriohjelma herättikin kiinnostusta opiskelijoiden keskuudessa ja se sai kehuja osakseen. Kuuntelijat olivat myös vaikuttuneita siitä, miten suosittu Hoitotieteen laitoksen maisterihaku oli tämän kevään yhteishaussa!
Saimme myös kuunnella ja kommentoida hoitotieteellisen instituutin maisteriopiskelijoiden tutkimussuunnitelmia, jotka käsittelivät muun muassa terveyslukutaitoa ja elämänlaadun kokemuksia eri väestöryhmillä. Lisäksi meillä oli koko viikon ajan hienoja ja inspiroivia keskusteluja Franziska Großschädlin sekä Gerhilde Schüttengruberin kanssa opetuksen kehittämisestä sekä tulevaisuuden tutkimusyhteistyöstä.
Meillä oli myös ilo tavata ja keskustella opetuksesta ja tutkimuksesta Professori Axel Wolfin (Director, Centre for Person-centred Care (GPCC), the University of Gothenburg) kanssa, joka on myös kuvassa. Opimme myös paljon Manuela Höldiltä (Ph.D., Institute of Nursing Science, Medical University of Graz), joka kertoi hoivakotien käytäntöjen kehittämistutkimuksestaan (Nursing Home Living Lab).
Kiitämme lämpimästi vielä kerran Medical University of Grazia, erityisesti Franziska Großschädlia ja Gerhilde Schüttengruberiä.

Visit to Medical University of Graz – Presentation of the University of Eastern Finland’s Department of Nursing Science Education and Research
We had the pleasure and honor of presenting the University of Eastern Finland and its Department of Nursing Science’s education and research to the master’s students in nursing and health sciences at the Institute of Nursing Science, Medical University of Graz.
The renewed master’s program at the Department of Nursing Science generated significant interest among the students and received positive feedback. The audience was particularly impressed by the high number of applications for the master’s program this spring!
We also had the opportunity to listen to and provide feedback on the master’s theses from the Institute of Nursing Science, which covered topics such as health literacy and quality of life experiences among various population groups. Furthermore, we engaged in wonderful and inspiring discussions throughout the week with Franziska Großschädl (Senior Lecturer, Priv.-Doz.in Dr.in scient.med.) and Gerhilde Schüttengruber (Ph.D., Dr.in rer.cur.) regarding the development of education and future research collaborations.
Additionally, we had the pleasure of meeting and discussing educational and research initiatives with Professor Axel Wolf (Centre Director, Centre for Person-Centred Care, University of Gothenburg) and learn more about living labs from Manuela Höld (Ph.D., Institute of Nursing Science, Medical University of Graz). We were pleased to gain insights from Dr. Manuela regarding the establishment of a nursing home living lab in Austria, as well as from Prof. Axel on the principles of Person-Centred Care.
