Welcome to participate in the lectures on Ukrainian and Russian churches’ roles and positions! The course deals with church–state relations and the state’s religious policy in the Soviet Union, Ukraine, Russia, with particular emphasis on the 2000-2024.

11.–12.11.2021 Ortodoksisuus ja rajat: 5. Ortodoksisuuden tutkijana -symposiumi
Itä-Suomen yliopiston teologian osasto kutsuu esitelmiä viidenteen Ortodoksisuuden tutkijana -symposiumiin, joka järjestetään Joensuussa 11.–12.11.2021 Itä-Suomen yliopistolla (Agora, AG101). Symposiumi on osa teologian osaston East meets West -tapahtumien sarjaa.
10.12.2021 Homosexuality and LGBTQ+ rights from different Christian perspectives
What kind of perspectives do Christian churches and communities have on homosexuality and LGBTQ+ rights? How are they visible in congregational life? The School of Theology invites audience to take part in a seminar in which these questions are analyzed. The seminar begins with an academic session (in English) and concludes with a pastoral panel discussion (in Finnish). The seminar is part of the East Meets West event series at the School of Theology.
