Collaboration with the Northeast Forestry University, China

The Disturbance and Biogeochemistry Research Group from the University of Eastern Finland (UEF) strengthened its collaboration with the Fire Ecology Research Group from the Northeast Forestry University (NEFU, Harbin, China). At the end of September 2024, Adj. Prof. Kajar Köster visited NEFU facilities in Harbin, the Wildland Fire Behavior Research Laboratory near Harbin, and study areas […]

Disturbances and Biogeochemistry for Ecosystem Services

Ecosystem services—the benefits nature provides—are fundamental to human well-being and climate resilience. At the University of Eastern Finland, the UEF//ECOSERV Research Group explores how ecosystem structures, functions, and services respond to natural and anthropogenic disturbances under changing climatic conditions. Our work bridges ecological research with practical solutions, addressing pressing environmental and societal challenges. See also: UEF//ECOSERV Research Group
