If a reference contains a <strong>pdf- or a Full text -link<\/strong> and clicking the link opens the article, it&#8217;s fine. But not all online publications are automatically for our university to access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Especially in reference databases (Scopus, Web of Science, Proquest etc.) there are not always direct links to the pdf &#8211; and even there is you might not be able to read the article. Instead, <strong>you have to locate the full text<\/strong> of an article by yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Find it -link regocnises the paid access<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>UEF Primo, reference databases and Google Scholar use a tool,&nbsp; that will show you what volumes and issues have been acquired to <strong>be available online in the university<\/strong> or if there is a <strong>printed version in the<\/strong> <strong>library collection.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This tools is called Find it\/Libkey and it can be seen as an icon (picture below) or as a text like View at UEF alongside the search results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"54\" height=\"20\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.uef.fi\/ueflibraryscienceforestry\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/55\/2020\/09\/findit.png\" alt=\"An icon with colourful knot on the left and a text: Find it, on the right.\" class=\"wp-image-935\" style=\"object-fit:cover\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Google or browser add-ons locates open access versions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If <em>Find it<\/em> doesn\u2019t find the article for you, it\u2019s always possible to <strong>try your luck<\/strong> with Google. It might find the article from an open online repository, a profile site or an open access publication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are also browser add-ons and extensions available that track down open access articles. Search them from UEF Primo (Library collection) by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>title<\/strong>, if&nbsp; it is a book or a report etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>journal title<\/strong>, if it is on article in a journal<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>book title<\/strong>, if it is an article in an edited book<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You will recognise a reference of an article in an edited book by little word &#8216;In&#8217;. For example, here is a reference of such an article:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Harou, P. (2019). Framing investments in forest Service. <strong>In:<\/strong> Farcy, C. et al. (eds.). Forestry in the midst of global changes. Boca Raton: CRC Press. P. 255-271.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First there is the article author and title info, then the book&#8217;s info. Article pages are given last.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Interlibrary service<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you don&#8217;t find the article from the Internet or as a printed version from the library, you can <strong>order the article (or a book!)<\/strong> from <strong>the Interlibrary service for customers<\/strong>.
