It\u00e4-Suomen yliopistossa otetaan joulukuussa 2019 k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6n uusi Alma-kirjastoj\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4 ja sen asiakask\u00e4ytt\u00f6liittym\u00e4 Primo VE. Alma korvaa jo 20 vuotta k\u00e4yt\u00f6ss\u00e4 olleen Voyager-j\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4n. Primo VE -k\u00e4ytt\u00f6liittym\u00e4 korvaa UEF-Finnan, joka on toiminut jo aiemmin k\u00e4yt\u00f6st\u00e4 poistettujen Nellin ja Voyagerin k\u00e4ytt\u00f6liittymien korvaajana. Alma uudentaa koko taustalla toimivan kirjastoj\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4n, ei pelk\u00e4st\u00e4\u00e4n asiakkaille tuttua k\u00e4ytt\u00f6liittym\u00e4\u00e4. Kyseess\u00e4 on harppaus nykyaikaiseen tietoj\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4\u00e4n ja sen palvelumalliin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kirjasto on ollut mukana Lumikko-hankintakonsortiossa, joka kilpailutti kirjastoj\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4t syksyll\u00e4 2018. Lumikko projektin k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6notto on jaettu kahteen osaan, jossa It\u00e4-Suomen yliopisto on mukana ensimm\u00e4isess\u00e4 k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6nottoaallossa yhdess\u00e4 Turun ja Tampereen yliopistojen ja \u00c5bo akademin sek\u00e4 Karelian, Satakunnan, Sein\u00e4joen ja Turun ammattikorkeakoulujen kanssa. Toisessa aallossa ovat mukana Helsingin, Lapin ja Oulun yliopistot, Taideyliopisto, LUT-yliopisto, Savonian, Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4n, Kajaanin ja Oulun ammattikorkeakoulut sek\u00e4 Eduskunnan kirjasto. Toinen aalto ottaa Alman k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6n kes\u00e4ll\u00e4 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alman k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6nottoprojekti on parhaillaan k\u00e4ynniss\u00e4 It\u00e4-Suomen yliopiston kirjastossa. Meneill\u00e4\u00e4n on testitietokannan m\u00e4\u00e4ritelmien tarkastukset ja tietojen siirtymisen testaukset. My\u00f6s henkil\u00f6kunnan koulutukset k\u00e4ynnistyv\u00e4t pian. Tietokannan integraation lis\u00e4ksi uuteen Almaan siirret\u00e4\u00e4n asiakastiedot, kirjaston hankinnan tiedot sek\u00e4 avataan k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6n uusi asiakask\u00e4ytt\u00f6liittym\u00e4 Primo VE. Uudelle palveluj\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4lle avataan nimikilpailu my\u00f6hemmin lokakuussa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kaiken kaikkiaan Alma on kansainv\u00e4lisesti k\u00e4yt\u00f6ss\u00e4 yli tuhannessa eri kirjastossa. Kirjasto ja asiakkaat saavat k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6ns\u00e4 nykyaikaisen ty\u00f6kalun, joka mahdollistaa rajapintojensa kautta palveluiden kehitt\u00e4misen jatkossakin. Varsinainen k\u00e4yt\u00e4nn\u00f6n muutoksista tiedottaminen asiakkaille alkaa my\u00f6hemmin syksyll\u00e4, sit\u00e4 kannattaa seurata.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In December 2019, the University of Eastern Finland will introduce the new Alma library system and its interface Primo VE. Alma will replace the Voyager system, which has been in use for 20 years. The Primo VE user interface replaces UEF-Finna, which has already replaced Nelli and Voyager user interfaces. Alma is an upgrading to the entire library system, not just the familiar user interface. This is a leap into a modern information system environment and its service model.<\/bdo><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The library has been involved in the Lumikko Consortium, which invited to tender the library systems in the fall of 2018. The implementation of the Lumikko project is divided into two groups, where the University of Eastern Finland participates in the first wave of implementation. The second group will introduce Alma in the summer 2020.<\/bdo><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alma’s implementation project is currently underway at the University of Eastern Finland Library. Test database definitions and data migration tests are in progress. Staff training will also start soon. In addition to database integration, customer data, library acquisition information and the new customer interface Primo VE will be transferred to the new Alma. The competition for the name of the new service system will be opened later in October.<\/bdo><\/p>\n\n\n\n

All in all, Alma is used internationally in over a thousand different libraries. The library and its customers will have access to a modern tool that enables them to further develop their services and resources. The actual communication of practical changes to customers will begin later in the autumn, so do follow our updates via Library\u2019s web-pages.<\/bdo><\/p>\n\n\n\n
