Olemme kuulleet sinua, oi It\u00e4-Suomen yliopiston kirjaston asiakas! Seurattuamme saamiamme palautteita kivet ja kannot on k\u00e4\u00e4nnetty, jotta juuri sinun kirjastokokemuksesi olisi entist\u00e4 mutkattomampi. T\u00e4ss\u00e4 kirjoituksessa kerromme, millaisia uudistuksia olemme toteuttaneet kirjastossa viime kuukausina. Toiveita olemme saaneet erityisesti Joensuun kampuskirjastossa. N\u00e4m\u00e4kin arkiset parannukset ovat syntyneet yhteisen\u00e4 ponnistuksena, ja kirjastoa ovat olleet auttamassa yliopistomme toimitilapalvelut, digipalvelut sek\u00e4 monet muut kampuksen t\u00e4rke\u00e4t toimijat. Me kirjastossa emme voi tarjota parasta yksin \u2013 tarpeitasi vastaavat palvelut syntyv\u00e4t yhteisty\u00f6n avulla.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aikaisemmin 24\/7-itseopiskelutiloihin<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Tiesitkin varmasti, ettei kirjaston k\u00e4yt\u00f6n tarvitse rajoittua UEFilaisella vain aukiolotunteihin! Olemme jo vuosia tarjonneet It\u00e4-Suomen yliopiston opiskelijoille ja henkil\u00f6kunnalle mahdollisuuden k\u00e4ytt\u00e4\u00e4 kirjaston tiloja virallisten aukioloaikojen ulkopuolella henkil\u00f6kohtaisen 24\/7-kulkutunnisteen avulla<\/a>. Kirjaston sulkeutuessa varmistamme turvallisuutesi takaamiseksi, ettei tiloihin j\u00e4\u00e4 ylim\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4isi\u00e4 henkil\u00f6it\u00e4, joten kaikkien on poistuttava sielt\u00e4. Aiemmin tyhjennysaika on ollut 30 minuuttia, mutta ahkerien tilapalvelumestareiden ansiosta olemme voineet supistaa tyhjennysajan 15 minuuttiin. T\u00e4m\u00e4 on ollut toivottu uudistus, jotta opiskelijoiden paras flow-tila ei ehtisi haihtua kirjaston sulkeutuessa ja sit\u00e4 odotellessa, ett\u00e4 tiloihin p\u00e4\u00e4see palaamaan. S\u00e4\u00e4styy sekin vartti johonkin kivempaan!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parannettu langaton verkko<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Olemme saaneet vuosien varrella palautetta langattoman verkon heikosta toimivuudesta ja katvealueista Joensuun kampuskirjastolla, joka levitt\u00e4ytyy kolmeen eri kerrokseen lukuisine nurkkauksineen. Digipalvelut on parantanut wifin toimintaa sijoittamalla tiloihin uusia tukiasemia. Nyt voit nauttia nopeasta ja luotettavasta Internet-yhteydest\u00e4 kirjastossa entist\u00e4 laajemmin. V\u00e4hemm\u00e4n p\u00e4tkimist\u00e4, sujuvampaa ty\u00f6skentely\u00e4!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

V\u00e4lipala-automaatti<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Meilt\u00e4 on jo vuosien ajan toivottu v\u00e4lipala-automaattia, ja nyt se on vihdoin t\u00e4\u00e4ll\u00e4! Kampusalueella ravintolapalveluita tuottava Compass Group j\u00e4rjesti v\u00e4lipala-automaatin Joensuun kampuskirjastoon loppuvuodesta 2024. Automaattia on alettu k\u00e4ytt\u00e4\u00e4 ilahduttavan paljon, ja sen valikoimaa on monipuolistettu palautteiden ja kertyneiden kokemusten perusteella. Voit jatkossakin antaa palautetta Compass Groupille s\u00e4hk\u00f6postitse (carelia@compass-group.fi), heid\u00e4n vieraskirjaansa kampusravintoloissa tai suullisesti. Kuopiossa v\u00e4lipala-automaatti on sijainnut kirjaston v\u00e4litt\u00f6m\u00e4ss\u00e4 l\u00e4heisyydess\u00e4 jo pidemp\u00e4\u00e4n. Olitpa kummalla kampuksella tahansa, n\u00e4lk\u00e4kiukku on en\u00e4\u00e4 muisto vain!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enemm\u00e4n ryhm\u00e4ty\u00f6huoneita<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ryhm\u00e4ty\u00f6huoneet ovat Joensuussa hyvin suosittuja, ja niit\u00e4 toivottu lis\u00e4\u00e4 jo kauan. Vaikka tila asettaa omat rajoitteensa, olemme vastanneet toiveeseen. Kirjasto tyhjensi kaksi erikoiskokoelmille varattua huonetta (3A2 ja 3A3) Joensuun kampuskirjaston 3. kerroksessa sijaitsevasta 3A-salista ja avasi ne hiljattain ryhm\u00e4ty\u00f6k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6n. Ryhm\u00e4ty\u00f6huoneita l\u00f6ytyy eri tarpeisiin 2. ja 3. kerroksesta. Kuopion kampuskirjastoa l\u00e4himm\u00e4t ryhm\u00e4ty\u00f6huoneet sijaitsevat puolestaan Snellmanian aulassa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Monipuolisemmat kierr\u00e4tyspisteet<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Joensuun kampuskirjastossa toivottiin monipuolisempia kierr\u00e4tyspisteit\u00e4 roskille. Nyt kuhunkin kerrokseen on sijoitettu erilliset kierr\u00e4tyspisteet, joiden yhteydest\u00e4 l\u00f6yd\u00e4t my\u00f6s erilliset ker\u00e4yspisteet tyhjille pulloille ja t\u00f6lkeille. Kiitos, ett\u00e4 autat pit\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n kirjaston siistin\u00e4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Erilliset tietokonen\u00e4yt\u00f6t asiakask\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6n<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Er\u00e4\u00e4ss\u00e4 asiakaspalautteessa toivottiin Joensuun kampuskirjaston tietokonealueelle erillist\u00e4 n\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00e4, johon saisi kytketty\u00e4 oman kannettavan tietokoneen. Sellainen j\u00e4rjestyi jo samana p\u00e4iv\u00e4n\u00e4! Kuopion kampuksella asiakkailla on Opparin tiloissa Canthia-rakennuksen 2. kerroksessa k\u00e4ytett\u00e4viss\u00e4 10 n\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00e4, jotka mahdollistavat oman tietokoneen kytkemisen. Toistaiseksi emme ole pyyt\u00e4neet vastaavia n\u00e4ytt\u00f6j\u00e4 kirjaston puolelle, sill\u00e4 n\u00e4yt\u00f6t veisiv\u00e4t tilaa tietokoneilta. Jos kuitenkin koet, ett\u00e4 n\u00e4yt\u00f6t olisivat hy\u00f6dyllisi\u00e4 nimenomaan kirjastossa, kerro siit\u00e4 meille!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saavutettavat ty\u00f6pisteet<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Aistiherkkien asiakkaiden tarpeita varten Joensuun kampuskirjaston 1. kerroksen hiljaisesta lukusalista l\u00f6ytyy ty\u00f6piste, joka tukee kognitiivista ja fyysist\u00e4 esteett\u00f6myytt\u00e4. Ty\u00f6pisteell\u00e4 on monipuolisesti s\u00e4\u00e4dett\u00e4v\u00e4 4K-n\u00e4ytt\u00f6 ja s\u00e4hk\u00f6s\u00e4\u00e4t\u00f6inen ty\u00f6p\u00f6yt\u00e4. My\u00f6s t\u00e4m\u00e4 aloite on tullut asiakaspalautteena, ja sit\u00e4 toteuttamassa ovat olleet yliopiston koulutuspalvelut, toimitilapalvelut ja digipalvelut. Joensuussa vastaava mutta erikseen varattava ty\u00f6piste l\u00f6ytyy my\u00f6s 1. kerroksen Exam 2 -tilasta (C162). Kev\u00e4\u00e4n aikana t\u00e4llainen tulee my\u00f6s Kuopion kampukselle Canthia-rakennuksen 2. kerrokseen, CA206-tilaan. Lis\u00e4tietoa Kamun Itseopiskelutilat-sivulla<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mit\u00e4 seuraavaksi?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Kehit\u00e4mme palveluita saamamme palautteen perusteella jatkuvasti. Toivomme, ett\u00e4 kerrot jatkossakin meille, miten voimme parantaa kirjastokokemustasi. Palautetta on kaikkein mutkattominta j\u00e4tt\u00e4\u00e4 meille verkkolomakkeen<\/a> avulla, mutta kirjaamme puolestasi my\u00f6s palvelupisteell\u00e4 antamasi suullisen palautteen, jotta se l\u00f6yt\u00e4\u00e4 tiens\u00e4 perille kirjaston sis\u00e4ll\u00e4. Tunnuslauseemme kirjaston uudelle toimikaudelle 2025-2028<\/a> on: \u201dAina avoin\u201d. Mit\u00e4 se tarkoittaa sinulle kirjaston k\u00e4ytt\u00e4j\u00e4n\u00e4? We have heard you, dear customer of the University of Eastern Finland Library! After listening to your feedback, we have left no stone unturned to make your library experience even more enjoyable. In this post, we will share the improvements we have made in our library over the past few months. We have received numerous suggestions for improvement, especially for the Joensuu Campus Library. These everyday enhancements have become reality through joint efforts, with significant support from our university’s Facilities Management, Digital Services, and many other important operators on campus. We at the library cannot offer our best on our own \u2013 services that genuinely meet your needs are created through collaboration.<\/bdo><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Less waiting before entering the 24\/7 self-study facilities<\/bdo><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

You certainly knew that using the UEF Library doesn’t have to be limited to opening hours, didn\u2019t you? For years, we have offered the students and staff of the University of Eastern Finland the opportunity to use the library premises outside official opening hours with a personal 24\/7 access badge<\/a>. When the library closes, we make sure that there are no extra people left in the premises, so everyone must exit. In the past, this waiting period has been 30 minutes, but thanks to hard-working facilities management officers, we have been able to reduce the period to 15 minutes. This has been a desired improvement, so that the flow state of students would not disappear when the library closes and while waiting for the return to the facilities. A quarter of an hour saved for something nicer!<\/bdo><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Smoother wireless network<\/bdo><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Over the years, we have received feedback on the poor functioning and blind spots of the wireless network at the Joensuu Campus Library, which has three floors with numerous corners. Digital Services has improved the quality of Wi-Fi by placing new routers in the premises. Now you can enjoy fast and reliable Internet access even more widely in the library. Smooth sailing all the way!<\/bdo><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vending machine<\/bdo><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We’ve been asked a vending machine for years, and now it’s finally here! Compass Group, which provides restaurant services in the campus area, brought a vending machine containing snacks and beverages to the Joensuu Campus Library at the end of 2024. The machine has found its everyday users, and the variety of its selection has increased based on the feedback. You can continue to provide feedback to Compass Group via email (carelia@compass-group.fi), their guestbook at the campus restaurants, or face-to-face while visiting the campus restaurants. In Kuopio, the vending machine has been located in the immediate vicinity of the library for a long time. No matter what campus you’re on, being \u201changry\u201d is a thing of the past!<\/bdo><\/p>\n\n\n\n

More group work rooms<\/bdo><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Group work rooms are heavily used in the Joensuu Campus Library, and adding more of them has been on the wish list of many. Although the physical space imposes its own limitations on this, we have responded to the wish. The library has emptied two rooms (3A2 and 3A3) previously reserved for our special collections at the 3rd floor of the Joensuu Campus Library and recently opened them for group work. Group work rooms for different needs can be found on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the Joensuu Campus Library. The group work rooms closest to the Kuopio Campus Library are located in the lobby of Snellmania building.<\/bdo><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Better recycling points<\/bdo><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There were requests for more versatile recycling points for rubbish in the Joensuu Campus Library. Now, dedicated recycling points have been placed on each floor, and you can also find separate collection points for empty bottles and cans. Thank you for keeping the library clean.<\/bdo><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Separate computer monitors for customer use<\/bdo><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There was a request for a separate monitor that could be connected to a personal laptop at the computer area in the Joensuu Campus Library. We made this happen on the same day! On the Kuopio campus, customers have 10 monitors available in the Oppari premises on the 2nd floor of the Canthia building, enabling them to connect their own laptop. So far, we have not asked for similar monitors on the library premises in Kuopio, as the they would take up space on computers. However, if you feel that monitors would be useful specifically in the library, let us know!<\/bdo><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accessible workstations<\/bdo><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To meet the needs of sensory-sensitive customers, a dedicated workstation can be found in the reading room on the 1st floor of the Joensuu Campus Library. It supports cognitive and physical accessibility. The workstation has a versatile 4K monitor and an electrically adjustable desk. This initiative has also come as customer feedback and has been implemented by the university’s Student and Learning Services, Facilities Management, and Digital Services. In Joensuu, a similar but reservable workstation can also be found in the Exam 2 space on the 1st floor (C162), and during the spring, there will also be one on the 2nd floor of the Canthia building (CA206), Kuopio, as well. We continuously develop the library services based on the feedback we receive. We hope you will continue to tell us how we can improve your everyday library experience. The easiest way to leave feedback is through an online form<\/a>, but we also collect the feedback you provide face-to-face at the customer service desk so that it will be heard. Our motto for the library’s new term 2025-2028<\/a> is: ”Always open.” What does it mean for you as a library user? How can we make it a reality?
