Kuopion kampuskirjaston henkil\u00f6kunta on t\u00e4n\u00e4 vuonna saanut joukkoihinsa tuiki tarpeellisen vahvistuksen, kun jokapaikan IT-tuki Paula aloitti ty\u00f6ns\u00e4 huhtikuussa kirjastojen ollessa koronan takia suljettuina. Sittemmin Paulalle ovat tulleet tutuiksi niin kirjastolaiset kuin Kuopion kampuksen kirjastotkin, mutta tunnettekos te Paulaa? Haluaisin esitell\u00e4 h\u00e4net teille.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kuka olet ja mit\u00e4 teet kirjastossa?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nimeni on Paula Honkanen ja toimin IT-palveluneuvojana Kuopion kampuskirjastossa ja KYSin tieteellisess\u00e4 kirjastossa. P\u00e4\u00e4vastuuni on yliopiston kirjaston henkil\u00f6kunnan k\u00e4ytt\u00e4mien laitteiden ja ohjelmistojen IT-tuki; laitteiden yll\u00e4pito ja henkil\u00f6kunnan IT-neuvonta ja -koulutus. Osallistun my\u00f6s kirjaston digitaalisten palveluiden kehitt\u00e4miseen sek\u00e4 laitteiden ja ohjelmistojen hankintaan. Asiakaspalveluvirkailijoiden h\u00e4lytyksest\u00e4 pyyh\u00e4ll\u00e4n my\u00f6s kirjaston asiakkaiden avuksi opastamaan laitteiden k\u00e4yt\u00f6ss\u00e4. Teht\u00e4vieni vuoksi olen saanut kollegaltani lempinimen Cyber-Honkanen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Olemme jo huomanneet, ettet ole mik\u00e4\u00e4n eilisen teeren tytt\u00f6. Mist\u00e4 olet oppisi saanut?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tietokoneet ja ohjelmistot ovat kuuluneet jokap\u00e4iv\u00e4iseen el\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4ni jo 30 vuotta. Aluksi IT-ala oli minulle l\u00e4hinn\u00e4 harrastus ohjelmoinnin ja pelaamisen muodossa. Sittemmin kouluttauduin ohjelmointiin ja multimediatekniikkaan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ty\u00f6kokemusta on karttunut sek\u00e4 kotimaisissa ett\u00e4 kansainv\u00e4lisess\u00e4 organisaatiossa mm. konsulttina, projektip\u00e4\u00e4llikk\u00f6n\u00e4, taloushallintoj\u00e4rjestelmien asiantuntijana ja sovellusneuvojana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jatkuva uuden oppiminen on minulle elinehto. Haluan tuoda osaamiseni organisaation avuksi ja edist\u00e4\u00e4 asioita.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Milt\u00e4 kirjastoty\u00f6 tuntuu? Onko ty\u00f6 sit\u00e4 mit\u00e4 odotit, vai onko vastaan tullut yll\u00e4tyksi\u00e4?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ty\u00f6 tieteellisess\u00e4 kirjastossa on ollut aivan mahtavaa. Ty\u00f6ntekij\u00f6iden monipuolinen osaaminen teki minuun vaikutuksen jo ensimm\u00e4isin\u00e4 p\u00e4ivin\u00e4. Ensimm\u00e4isest\u00e4 p\u00e4iv\u00e4st\u00e4 l\u00e4htien olen ollut todella iloinen siit\u00e4, ett\u00e4 p\u00e4\u00e4sin mukaan n\u00e4in monipuolisten ammattilaisten joukkoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the sweaty chore, Piia tests to see if Paula got the computer switches right.<\/bdo><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The staff of the Kuopio Campus Library has welcomed a necessary confirmation this year, when Paula, the IT support, started working in April with libraries closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Since then, Paula has become familiar with both the librarians and Kuopio Campus Libraries, but do you know Paula? I would like to introduce her to you.<\/bdo><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who are you and what are you doing in the library?<\/bdo><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

My name is Paula Honkanen and I work as an IT Service Advisor at Kuopio Campus Library and KUH Medical Library. My main responsibility is IT support for equipment and software used by the University Library staff; equipment maintenance and staff IT advice and training. I am also involved in the development of digital library services, as well as the acquisition of equipment and software. At the request of customer service, I also guide the library customers in the use of the printers and computers. Because of my duties, I have received the nickname Cyber-Honkanen from a colleague.<\/bdo><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’ve already discovered that you were not born yesterday. Where did you get your skills from?<\/strong><\/bdo><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Computers and software have been part of my daily life for 30 years now. At first, the IT industry was mainly a hobby for me in the form of programming and gaming. Since then, I trained in programming and multimedia engineering.<\/bdo><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have gained work experience both in domestic and international organisations as a consultant, project manager, financial management systems expert and application advisor.<\/bdo><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Constantly learning something new is a lifeline for me. I want to bring my skills to the aid of the organisation and promote things.<\/bdo><\/p>\n\n\n\n

How does the library work feel? Is the job what you expected, or have you encountered surprises?<\/strong><\/bdo><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Working in a academic library has been awesome. The diverse know-how of the employees impressed me even in the first few days. From day one, I’ve been happy to be included in such a diverse group of professionals.<\/bdo><\/p>\n\n\n\n
