Jouni Sorvari PhD, Associate Professor (TT) on applied ecology. Sorvari works at the Department of Environmental and Biological Sciences in Kuopio campus. He is involved in teaching both in the bachelor’s level and master’s level courses in environmental biology. As a researcher, he is specialised in ecology of social insects such as ants, bumblebees and wasps. Recently the studies are focused on chemical and microbial ecology of these interesting creatures. Collaboration in chemical ecology brought him to University of California Berkeley, where he worked a month (March 2017) supported by the Fulbright Finland grant for research collaboration.
