Their vulnerabilities are often portrayed as a consequence of \u2018natural hazards.\u2019 Yet, it is rarely questioned why certain people become more vulnerable than others in front of nature\u2019s powers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In her recently published article, Anna Marjaana Heikkinen discusses how uneven power relations compound Peruvian highland farmers\u2019 vulnerability experiences under climate change. She argues that their vulnerabilities root in marginalizing socioeconomic structures in the past and present.
