We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with experience in working with soil biogeochemical processes and greenhouse gas (CO2, CH4 and N2O) fluxes, whose main working tasks include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Work with existing datasets (changes in post-fire soil physical, chemical, and biological properties and greenhouse gas fluxes) collected from different fire-damaged areas all over the boreal forest zone.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gas flux measurements in newly established prescribed\/restoration fire areas in Eastern Finland.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Developing and implementing greenhouse gas flux calculations and data control.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reporting of results and preparation of scientific publications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participation in supervising Bachelor&#8217;s and Master\u2019s students, and a certain amount of teaching.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participation in writing grant applications and developing scientific collaborations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information and a link to the application system, see:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>https:\/\/uef.varbi.com\/what:job\/jobID:690829\/ <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The application deadline is February 9<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 2-year post-doc position deals with disturbance ecology and biogeochemistry of greenhouse gasses. \u00a0 The position will be funded by the four-year project \u201cClimate and air quality impacts of boreal forest fires\u201d (Jane and Aatos Erkko Foundation).
