During the workshop, student teams scanned the LogoLab research environment and created a virtual tour of its facilities in collaboration with the research and laboratory staff of logopedics. The workshop was suitable for complete beginners to encourage students to engage in continuous learning, explore new skills, and cross disciplinary boundaries.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first session involved scanning the LogoLab facilities: laboratory and simulation space. The scans were then converted into 3D models in Matterport, where spaces can be explored from different viewpoints on a virtual tour.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The next step was to mark the laboratory equipment with hotspots. Hotspots are interactive (clickable) icons that are placed on specific points in the scan and reveal more information about the objects. Hotspots can include text, images, videos, links, and audio.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not only did the workshop challenge the participants to develop their digital skills but it also required information retrieval, creativity, and understanding of the target audience and end users.\u00a0Additionally, the participants got to improve their teamwork and presentation skills.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After completing the scans and placing the hotspots, the participants reflected on how the technologies could be used in professional settings in their professional fields.
