From the perspective of UEF, in particular, the key documents guiding open science efforts include:<\/p>\n\n\n\t<div id=\"accordion-block_7a1e7d6eee8b7ad4b64d91cd6287fcdd\" class=\"accordions\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion accordion-js\">\n\t\t\t\t<button class=\"accordion__button\" aria-controls=\"content-6622\" aria-expanded=\"false\" id=\"accordion-control-6622\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"accordion__heading\" >\n\t\t\t\t\t\tUNESCO Recommendation on Open Science\t\t\t\t\t<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t<\/button>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion__content\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-control-6622\" aria-hidden=\"true\" id=\"content-6622\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>One international tool for implementing open science practices around the world is <strong>UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science<\/strong> which was adopted by member states in November 2021.<\/p>\n<p>The Recommendation defines shared values and principles for open science and identifies concrete measures on open access and open data, with proposals to bring citizens closer to science and commitments to facilitate the production and dissemination of scientific knowledge around the world.<\/p>\n<p>The Recommendation is intended to influence the development of national laws and practices.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/unesdoc.unesco.org\/ark:\/48223\/pf0000379949\">In English<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/avointiede.fi\/sites\/default\/files\/2023-03\/UNESCO-suositus-2021.pdf\">In Finnish, unofficial translation<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion accordion-js\">\n\t\t\t\t<button class=\"accordion__button\" aria-controls=\"content-7392\" aria-expanded=\"false\" id=\"accordion-control-7392\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"accordion__heading\" >\n\t\t\t\t\t\tThe Declaration for Open Science and Research 2025-2030\t\t\t\t\t<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t<\/button>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion__content\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-control-7392\" aria-hidden=\"true\" id=\"content-7392\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>The <strong>Declaration for Open Science and Research <\/strong>(2025) by Open Science Coordination in Finland outlines a shared vision and core principles for promoting openness in research that takes place in Finland. The declaration encourages organisations and individuals to commit to advancing open science through transparency, collaboration, and accessibility. It builds on previous national efforts and aligns with international developments, such as the UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science. The aim is to foster a culture where open science is an integral part of everyday research practices.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/edition.fi\/tsv\/catalog\/book\/1358\">In English<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/edition.fi\/tsv\/catalog\/book\/1356\">In Finnish<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion accordion-js\">\n\t\t\t\t<button class=\"accordion__button\" aria-controls=\"content-3855\" aria-expanded=\"false\" id=\"accordion-control-3855\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"accordion__heading\" >\n\t\t\t\t\t\tUEF Open Science and Research Policy\t\t\t\t\t<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t<\/button>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion__content\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-control-3855\" aria-hidden=\"true\" id=\"content-3855\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>UEF Open Science and Research Policy<\/strong> (2024) contains policies for open education, data and infrastructures, and publications.
